Developed a content business model calculator to help make decisions about future products

During a content strategy project, a major medical system wanted to develop a business plan for a line of subscription-based content products. The ideas were all over the board and it was difficult to assess options without knowing more about financial and manpower.

To facilitate the conversation, Melissa designed a configurable calculator in Microsoft Excel. Using her experience with dozens of similar projects, she created a tool that could estimate the cost of developing various types of content, potential revenue models, and bottom-line return on investment.

As a result, the team could analyze several ideas quickly and pursue the options that had the most potential for profit.
